Bellevue, Ohio - 16-year-old Cap Henry of Bellevue, Ohio had taken his Elite Collision backed 305 sprinter to the A-main at every show so far this year. Unfortunately the streak ended at 20 this past Friday night at Attica Raceway Park when the youngster failed to make the show for the first time in '07.
With high expectations Cap was ready to fight for the victory on this night but an Unfortunate pill draw would have him starting 8th in the heat race. The talented driver had come from that far back to make the show once before, though it was not to be this night. The Embroidery Unlimited backed car would be relegated to the B-main for only the second time this year.
Starting fifth only two cars would advance into the A main. Henry made very short work of the first couple cars though was unable to make the pass into second and the final transfer position. He may have shown his hand to early or it could have been the motor was getting tired, though the HMC Limited Internet car was unable to get around the second place competitor to make the feature race. This was quite a turn around for Cap at this track as in the last couple weeks he had come oh so close to breaking into the win column. On 305 engine builders night he chased past 305 Champion and current 410 driver Mike Linder for the majority of the feature sticking his nose underneath him twice for the lead. Unfortunately a hard hit to the cushion would break the bird cage sending the youngster to the infield for disappointing 18th place finish. The weekend prior found the Kear's Speed shop sprinter coming home in 4th place.
Though the streak has ended overall the young driver continues to make the A-main at Fremont Raceway Park . This last Saturday night, Cap would make A-main #14 this year at the challenging race track. Starting tenth and finishing 10th was an excellent run as the Henry Motorsports race team found the #04 car running on about six and a half cylinders for most of the weekend. Cap was hoping to improve on his previous two weekends at Fremont where he found himself finishing eighth and 15th respectively.
The Henry Motorsports Team continues to look for sponsors for this young man as well as chances to show case his road racing skills.
