Lebanon, TN - Nashville Superspeedway was a hot item this weekend, both on and off the track. Temperatures soared to over 100 degrees as teams practiced and qualified Friday then raced in the Toyota 150, Saturday afternoon. To the teams surprise no one had any issues other than trying to overcome a slick racetrack and get the car dialed in for the race. The challenge of racing on a slick track is always challenging to the team engineer.
The #59 HD Supply Lumber and Building Materials Dodge team kept focused and got the car comfortable for Justin. The team qualified the car in the 22nd position. The #59 HD Supply Lumber and Building Materials Dodge team finished the day in the 20th position. The team had handling issues from the beginning of the race and was not able to overcome these issues until lap 69 when Justin brought the car into the pits making their final pit stop of the race. The final adjustments were made and the team finished the race, keeping the consistent finishes, and remaining in the top-ten in the point's standings. The #59 HD Supply Lumber and Building Materials Dodge will tackle the dirt track at Springfield, Illinois on the one-mile oval. This will be the first time Justin South will race on a dirt track. It should be exciting this coming weekend at Springfield.
"I had handling issues all weekend and so did everyone else. We would go out and make a run during practice, trying to adjust, but never could find a whole lot of speed. The track was slick so you never could get a hold of the track or get the car to turn well in the center of the corner. During the race I had plenty of horsepower and the car handled well in traffic but it still had issues in the turns. I know we have good race cars and we have got to get back on track and get a win soon. These guys work really hard and I know if we can fix these handling problems we will be in good shape," said Justin
